A tappit hen is an old Scottish drinks container – for wine or spirits, usually about three times the volume of a single bottle – which specifically has a cap and knob – supposed to be like a hen’s comb.
The challenge is for two rinks from each club and the net score determines the winning club.
The Trophy is presented to the "highest up" skip in the winning club at the end of the match.
