Province Competitions

As a Club within the West of Fife Province, Boreland enters all of the relevant WoF Province Competitions each season.

West of Fife Province League


This is a straightforward league competition, played by clubs, like Boreland, who have chosen to enter. Each club plays each other once during the season. Points are awarded [2 for a win and 1 for a draw(peals)] and the club with the most points at the end of the season wins the Trophy. If there is a tie, then Shots Up, Ends Up and Shots Scored are used to decide the winning club which receives the Province League Trophy at the end of season WoF Province AGM.

West of Fife Province Knock-out


This is a knock-out competition, played by clubs, like Boreland, who have chosen to enter – clubs may enter more than one rink (Boreland usually enters two). Each game is played on a Shots Up, Ends Up and Shots Scored basis to determine the winning clubs. The winner of the final receives the Province Knock-out Trophy at the end of season WoF Province AGM.

West of Fife Province Pairs Knock-out


The winning rink in the Boreland Pairs Competition in any one season goes on to represent the Club in the Province Pairs competition in the next season.

This is a knock-out competition, played by clubs, like Boreland, who have chosen to enter.. Each game is played on a Shots Up, Ends Up and Shots Scored basis to determine the winning clubs. The winner of the final receives the Province Pairs Knock-out Trophy at the end of season WoF Province AGM.

Zermatt Trophy (Organised by EoF PRovince)


The Zermatt Trophy Competition is an annual challenge played between clubs from East of Fife Province and West of Fife Province. The competition consists of a set of single matches by participating clubs.

The winner is the Province which aggregates the highest number of shots scored across all the matches. The trophy is presented to the Club from the winning Province which has scored the greatest margin of victory. If West of Fife Province is victorious, the trophy is presented to this Club at the end of season WoF Province AGM.
